In an effort to reimagine what a support group looks like, We want to create a gathering for caregivers and their companions with memory loss. These events encourage people with dementia and their caregivers to engage with others in their community.
Isolation and a lack of socialization can lead to memory loss and brain changes. We directly address this issue with our caregiver/companion outings. We encourage caregivers to be social and reassure them that outings can be fun and not stressful.
The Caregiver Club® is excited to partner with local St. Louis businesses and organizations to offer these outings. These events are a small group setting for both individuals to feel supported and comfortable.
We want to offer a place where everyone feels comfortable and at home. Where caregivers and their companions feel loved, supported, and understood. We understand how difficult outings can be, and we want to create public outings that are safe, inclusive, and fun. We want to show caregivers that life after diagnosis does not end. There is so much joy, laughter, and living to experience. These outings are designed to rekindle the socialization that both Covid and a dementia diagnosis may have hidden.
In addition, We want to celebrate that people can and should continue to live well and connect with others throughout the dementia progression. Caregivers have found great support and enjoyment from these outings.
