The Caregiver Respite Initiative
ALL ENTRIES MADE WILL BE ENTERED INTO OUR JANUARY 31st, 2025 INITIATIVE.
ENTRIES CLOSE AT MIDNIGHT ON JANUARY 31st, 2025.
The Caregiver Respite Initiative is one of three funded programs established by The Caregiver Club®. It is our way of validating, thanking, and supporting caregivers locally and nationwide. We believe caregiving for an individual with Alzheimer’s or dementia is a 24/7 commitment. This job is often thrust upon a loved one with little to no warning and no help or training. Caregivers can feel lost, frustrated, burnt out, and stressed. It can be emotionally, physically, and financially draining. We are here to help.
This respite initiative helps refresh and uplift a caregiver’s mental, emotional, and financial well-being. The respite funding will allow caregivers to return to caregiving in a better state of mind and body.
We are asking for basic contact information and an explanation of why this caregiver deserves recognition and support from The Caregiver Club®. We are not restricting the nominated caregivers by location, economic status, age, race, dementia diagnosis, or religion.
The Caregiver Club® has a nomination form that is required for each applicant. We ask that individuals nominate a caregiver only via our website form. You can find our nomination form at the bottom of this page. Please read all requirements first.
Requirements:
- Nominees can be professional caregivers or unpaid family caregivers.
- Primary caregivers are more favorably evaluated. However, secondary caregivers are free to apply.
- Caregivers need to be caring for somebody with Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia.
- Caregivers can be located anywhere in the U.S.
- Caregiver fact-checking will be performed before gifts are granted.
- Caregivers will be asked to complete a post-gift survey to help guide future gifts and programming.
- Recipients of The Caregiver Club’s® monetary check must wait a year from their awarded cycle to apply. For example, if you received a monetary check from The Caregiver Club® in the May 31st, 2024, respite cycle, you can not apply again to The Caregiver Club’s® Repite initiative until the September 31st, 2025 cycle.
- Not everyone will receive a monetary check in each cycle. If you only received a care package and no funding from The Caregiver Club®, you are free to apply in the next cycle. Your entry will not roll over to the next cycle; you must reapply to be entered into that cycle.
- We strive to award every nominated caregiver a monetary gift; however, in each cycle, different amounts may be awarded, and not all caregivers are guaranteed to receive funding.
Recognition Schedule and Information
The Caregiver Club® will replicate the caregiver selection process 3 times a year starting in the beginning of each calendar year. Our respite initiative will close at midnight on January 31st, May 31st, and September 30th.
Depending on funds available caregivers will receive a monetary gift to help elevate caregiver stress. This check is to be used at the caregivers discretion to bring them respite. Additionally, they will receive a Caregiver Set, a list of respite suggestions, and certificate of recognition. We are asking that caregivers use these funds in good faith towards one of the suggested respite ideas.
